    The Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT), Florida’s Turnpike Enterprise announces a public meeting to which all persons are invited.

    DATE AND TIME: Tuesday, June 18, 2019, 5:30 p.m. – 7:30 p.m.

    PLACE: W.H. Stuart Center, 1710 US Highway 17 South, Bartow, FL 33830.

    In the event that the Public Information Meeting cannot be held on June 18, 2019 due to severe weather or other unforeseen conditions, it will be held on the alternate date of Tuesday, July 9, 2019 at the same time and place.

    GENERAL SUBJECT MATTER TO BE CONSIDERED: This Public Information Meeting is being held to give interested persons an opportunity to express their views concerning the Central Polk Parkway Project Development and Environment (PD&E) Study from US 17 (SR 35) to SR 60 in Polk County, Florida (Financial Project Identification Number: 440897-4-22-01 and Efficient Transportation Decision Making (ETDM) Number 14372).

    The meeting will be an informal open house from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. There will be no formal presentation. During the open house, project information will include displays that describe the proposed improvements and an opportunity for interested persons to provide comments. Information on the study process, study area, purpose and need, and other project information, including social, environmental, and economic resources, will also be on display. Multiple alternatives for the proposed roadway will be on display to address existing and future traffic needs and provide long-term options to move people and goods while minimizing impacts. Your participation and input on the anticipated social, economic, and environmental effects are appreciated. The project will be evaluated in accordance with Federal Executive Orders 11990 (Protection of Wetlands) and 11988 (Floodplain Management). Florida’s Turnpike Enterprise representatives will be available to discuss the project and answer questions.
