The Florida Department of Health, Bureau of Chronic Disease Prevention, Preventive Health & Health Services Block Grant (PHHSBG) Advisory Committee announces a telephone conference call to which all persons are invited.
DATE AND TIME: Tuesday, June 17, 2014, 1:00 p.m. – 2:00 p.m. Advisory Committee Meeting; 2:00 p.m. – 2:30 p.m. Public Testimony

GENERAL SUBJECT MATTER TO BE CONSIDERED: The Florida Department of Health is designated as the principal state agency for the allocation and administration of the PHHSBG within the State of Florida. As established by the Public Health Services Act, Section 1905(d), the Advisory Committee makes recommendations regarding the development and implementation of the Annual Application/State Plan. The Advisory Committee recommends funding of prevention programs committed to reducing the burden of the leading causes of death and disability by emphasizing effective prevention strategies. Committee members must meet annually to review funding, programs and to recommend plans for the future as a requirement of continued federal funding.
