40E-6.011Policy and Purpose

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that on June 4, 2015, the South Florida Water Management District (District) received a petition for waiver from Florida Department of Transportation (Application No. 15-0519-1) for utilization of Works or Lands of the District known as the C-6 Canal, Miami-Dade County for the placement of landscaping within the north right of way of C-6 located adjacent to State Road No. 25 (Okeechobee Road) beginning approximately 0.15 miles west of the Florida’s Turnpike and extending southeasterly approximately 5 miles to the Palmetto Expressway. Location: Miami-Dade County, Sections 19, 30, 29, 32, 33, 4, 3, & 10, Township 52 South, Range 40 East. The petition seeks relief from subsections 40E-6.011(4) & (6), Fla. Admin. Code, which prohibit the placement of permanent & semi-permanent above-ground structures within 40 feet of top of canal bank within Works or Lands of the District.
