The Department of Environmental Protection, Division of Water Resource Management announces a workshop to which all persons are invited.

This is the fifth rule development workshop to discuss proposed amendments to Chapter 62-345, Florida Administrative Code (F.A.C.), the Uniform Mitigation Assessment Method. Notice of Development of Rulemaking for these amendments was published in the Florida Administrative Register on May 3, 2013, in Vol. 39, No. 87, F.A.R.
GENERAL SUBJECT MATTER TO BE CONSIDERED: Provide an update on the rule revision process regarding amendments to rule Chapter 62-345, F.A.C., Uniform Mitigation Assessment Method. The amendments to the rule provide clarified assessment standards to existing UMAM scoring guidelines and newly developed criteria specific to submerged aquatic habitats (seagrass and hardbottom) and freshwater streams. Forms have also been revised for improved efficiency and ease of use. Draft forms have been updated to replace the need for narrative justification with a multiple-choice, fill-in-the-blank, and check-the-box style format.
