    The Florida Housing Finance Corporation announces a workshop to which all persons are invited.

    DATE AND TIME: August 8, 2013, 12:30 p.m. 2:30 p.m.

    GENERAL SUBJECT MATTER TO BE CONSIDERED: Florida Housing Finance Corporation received $10 million in non-recurring grant funds appropriated by the 2013 Legislature to provide housing for homeless persons. The workshop will be held to discuss and take public and stakeholder comments concerning Florida Housing’s proposed approach for a competitive application process to distribute this grant funding. The legislation calls for the funding to be awarded on a competitive basis to private nonprofit organizations to develop housing for homeless individuals and families, with priority given to those households with extremely low incomes. The funding shall be used to purchase and renovate existing houses or to construct or purchase and renovate small specialty housing of 15 units or less.
