NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Florida Building Commission has received the petition for declaratory statement from Frank LaPete & Responsible Energy Codes Alliance. The petition seeks the agency’s opinion as to the applicability of Section 553.903, F.S. & Sections R101.4.7 & R402.3.6, Florida Building Code 5th Edition (2014), Energy Conservation as it applies to the petitioner.

Petitioner seeks clarification as to whether all replacement fenestration in existing buildings must comply with the above-referenced sections irrespective of whether the building meets the definition of “renovated building.”
