The Florida Department of Environmental Protection (DEP) has determined that Town of Highland Beach's project involving the construction of a lime slurry/carbon dioxide remineralization buffering system, rehabilitation of the clearwell at the water treatment plant, and abandonment in place and replacement of 6,750 feet of deteriorated asbestos cement water mains with PVC water mains is not expected to generate controversy over potential environmental effects. The total estimated project cost is $4,660,000. The project may qualify for a Drinking Water State Revolving Fund (SRF) loan composed of federal and state funds. DEP will consider public comments about the environmental impacts of the proposed project that are postmarked or delivered at the address below within 30 days of this notice.
