    The Florida Department of Transportation District 2 announces a public meeting to which all persons are invited.

    DATE AND TIME: July 24, 2014, 4:30 p.m. 6:30 p.m.

    PLACE: Ribault Club, 11241 Fort George Road, Jacksonville, FL 32226

    GENERAL SUBJECT MATTER TO BE CONSIDERED: This public meeting is being held to give interested persons an opportunity to express their views concerning the location, conceptual design, and social, economic and environmental effects of Financial Project ID Numbers 408494-3, 408494-5 and 434014-1, otherwise known as Fort George Island Trailhead, Batten Island Wetland Restoration and trail from Shad Creek Bridge to Fort George Island Trailhead in Duval County, Florida. The proposed improvements to the Fort George Island project area include building a trailhead and a new park entrance at Fort George Island, linking the trail from Shad Creek Bridge along Heckscher Drive (A1A) to the new Fort George Trailhead and restoring the marsh on Batten Island. A cul-de-sac at the end of the residential area of Fort George Road is also being proposed.
