FLORIDA CATEGORICAL EXCLUSION NOTICE (FCEN)
City of Stuart
The Department of Environmental Protection (DEP) has determined that the City of Stuart’s proposed project to rehabilitate their drinking water system is not expected to generate controversy over potential environmental effects. The project includes installation of a 4 million gallon per day (MGD) pretreatment system, Floridan well, 1 MGD reverse osmosis plant, and modification of the existing deep injection well within their existing right of way at an estimated cost of $18.2 million. The project may qualify for a Drinking Water SRF loan composed of federal and state funds. DEP will consider public comments about the environmental impacts of the proposed project that are postmarked or delivered at the address below within 30 days of this notice.
