  • The Florida Department of Transportation announces a public meeting to which all persons are invited.
    DATE AND TIME: Thursday, August 11, 2011, 5:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m.
    PLACE: Avon Park Seventh-day Adventist Church, 1410 W. Avon Park Blvd., Avon Park, Florida 33825
    GENERAL SUBJECT MATTER TO BE CONSIDERED: The Florida Department of Transportation will host a public information meeting to provide details on the upcoming roadway construction project on US 27 from Lake Isis Avenue to the Polk County Line in Highlands County, Florida. Improvements being made as part of this project consist of widening US 27 from four to six lanes, resurfacing the roadway, drainage improvements, sidewalks, street lighting, updating signalization, signing, and pavement markings. This public information meeting will be an open house format with no formal presentation. Project staff will be available to answer questions regarding access to businesses and residential entrances, lanes closures and other project related information.
