    6A-1.099811Differentiated Accountability State System of School Improvement

    PURPOSE AND EFFECT: The purpose of this rule development is to update references to “Common Core State Standards” and website addresses that are no longer operational; revise rule language and forms to reflect changes made to Sections 1001.42 and 1008.33, Florida Statutes, during the 2014 legislative session; modify terminology used to describe the “Planning” and “Implementing” years for Focus and Priority schools for purposes of clarity, and clarify the timeline for districts with schools planning for implementation of a turnaround option. The effect of this development will be a rule that is better aligned with the requirements set forth in state statute, provides greater clarity around the turnaround statuses and exit criteria, and produces a turnaround planning timeline that allows districts to more authentically engage in the school improvement process.
