    PURPOSE AND EFFECT: The purpose of the amendment to Rule 59G-4.330, F.A.C., is to incorporate by reference the Florida Medicaid Non-Emergency Transportation Services Coverage and Limitations Handbook, __________. A revision of the handbook is necessary to: (1) provide up-to-date guidance on non-emergency transportation services; (2) define available modes of transportation; (3) update rules relating to Medicaid foster parents and medical escorts; (4) modify the procedure for transporting Baker Act recipients; (5) update policy related to travel expenses; and (6) to change the title of the rule to Non-Emergency Transportation Services.

    SUBJECT AREA TO BE ADDRESSED: Non-Emergency Transportation Services.

    An additional area to be addressed during the workshop will be the potential regulatory impact the amendment to Rule 59G-4.330, F.A.C., will have as provided for under Sections 120.54 and 120.541, Florida Statutes.

    59G-4.330 Non-Emergency Transportation Services.

    (1) This rule applies to all providers of non-emergency entities which provide transportation services who are enrolled in the to Florida Medicaid program recipients.

    (2) All providers of non-emergency transportation services providers who provide transportation to Medicaid recipients must be in compliance comply with the provisions of the Florida Medicaid Non-Emergency Transportation Services Coverage, and Limitations and Reimbursement Handbook, __________July 1997, incorporated by reference. The handbook is available from the Medicaid fiscal agent’s Web site at www.mymedicaid-florida.com website at http://floridamedicaid.acs-inc.com.
