64B4-11.007Definition of “Licensed Clinical Social Worker, or the Equivalent, Who Is a Qualified Supervisor.”

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that on July 21, 2016, the Board of Clinical Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy and Mental Health Counseling, received a petition for waiver or variance filed by James Aaron Fieser, seeking a variance or waiver of paragraph 64B4-11.007(1)(c), F.A.C., which states that the definition of a qualified supervisor as licensed as a marriage and family therapist, or mental health counselor in Florida or in the state in which the supervision took place and can demonstrate nine semester or twelve quarter hours of course work in social work theories and techniques. The concerned hours shall be chosen from an accredited graduate school of social work and relate to three (3) of the following six areas of content: human behavior and social environment I and/or II, social work practice theories, models of the social work practice, advanced social work practice, or ethical issues in contemporary social work practice.
