Project Description: State Road (S.R.) 25/U.S. 27 from south of Arlington Ridge Blvd. to north of County Road (C.R.) 33, Lake County, Florida

The Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) invites all persons to an informational open house for a resurfacing project on S.R. 25/U.S. 27 from south of Arlington Ridge Blvd. to north of C.R. 33 in portions of the City of Leesburg and unincorporated regions of Lake County.

The intent of this project is to mill and resurface the existing pavement to extend the life of the roadway. Resurfacing improvements include travel lanes, shoulders, auxiliary lanes, and median crossovers. The project also includes operational and maintenance improvements such as extending turn lanes in some areas, constructing a new southbound directional median opening with a left turn lane at the First National Bank driveway just south of Pelican Isle Drive, new signs and pavements. Intersection improvements at C.R. 33 include eliminating the continuous green arrow/through lane along northbound S.R. 25 and providing dual left turn lanes from C.R. 33 to northbound S.R. 25 to improve intersection safety. Various safety enhancements are included to comply with current Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) and FDOT standards regarding pedestrian features, including adding crosswalks at C.R. 48. This project will not require additional right-of-way.

The open house will be 5:30 p.m. – 7:30 p.m., Thursday, July 11, 2019, at the First Baptist Church of Leesburg, Southern Campus, 25900 U.S. Highway 27, Leesburg, FL 34748. Interested persons may attend at any time during those hours to view a looping video presentation and project exhibits, speak with project team members, and provide input on the design.

Public participation is solicited without regard to race, color, national origin, age, sex, religion, disability or family status.
