    6A-1.0018School Safety Requirements and Monitoring

    PURPOSE AND EFFECT: To set forth requirements relating to school safety and to define certain safety measures that schools are expected to meet. Amendments will clarify reporting and documentation of threat assessments, including where no threat is found. In addition, amendments will address emergency and active assailant drills, as well as duties of the school safety specialist, including those related to youth mental health awareness training in Section 1012.584, F.S. Incorporated threat assessment forms and model policies will be amended to conform to any amendments made in the rule. Other general matters relating to school safety monitoring, reporting and training, and threat assessment, will also be considered.
