GENERAL SUBJECT MATTER TO BE CONSIDERED: To receive public comments on draft nutrient total maximum daily loads (TMDLs) for impaired waters in the Middle St. Johns River Basin, to be adopted in Rule 62-304.505, F.A.C. The draft TMDLs to be presented at the public workshop are for Lake Giles (WBID 3168Z4). These nutrient TMDLs, if adopted, will constitute site-specific numeric interpretations of the narrative nutrient criterion set forth in paragraph 62-302.530(48)(b), F.A.C., and replace the otherwise applicable numeric nutrient criteria in subsection 62-302.531(2), F.A.C., for this water. The draft TMDL document for this impaired water is available on the Department’s TMDL website: https://floridadep.gov/dear/water-quality-evaluation-tmdl/content/draft-tmdls, and will be provided upon request to interested parties by mail or via email distribution. The Department will accept written comments on the draft TMDLs, as well as the establishment of these nutrient TMDLs as site-specific interpretations of the narrative nutrient criterion, through October 4, 2024.
