    PURPOSE AND EFFECT: The purpose of the rule revision is to update the minimum student performance standards for children participating in the School Readiness Program.

    SUMMARY: The student performance standards for children participating in the School Readiness Program. The public hearing will be held simultaneously with the rule development workshop for Rule 6M-8.602, F.A.C. Performance Standards for Children Participating in the Voluntary (VPK) Education Program.

    SUMMARY OF STATEMENT OF ESTIMATED REGULATORY COSTS AND LEGISLATIVE RATIFICATION:

    The Agency has determined that this will not have an adverse impact on small business or likely increase directly or indirectly regulatory costs in excess of $200,000 in the aggregate within one year after the implementation of the rule. A SERC has not been prepared by the Agency.

    The Agency has determined that the proposed rule is not expected to require legislative ratification based on the statement of estimated regulatory costs or if no SERC is required, the information expressly relied upon and described herein: The office's economic analysis of the adverse impact or potential regulatory costs of the proposed rule does not exceed any of the criteria established in s. 120.541(2)(a), F.S. This rule updates the performance standards for children participating in the School Readiness Program.

    Any person who wishes to provide information regarding a statement of estimated regulatory costs, or provide a proposal for a lower cost regulatory alternative must do so in writing within 21 days of this notice.

    (1) Florida’s Office of Early Learning hereby adopts the Florida Early Learning and Developmental Standards: Birth to Kindergarten Five, Form OEL-SR 15 ( October 2017) Form OEL-SR 30 dated August 2012, as the child performance standards for use in the School Readiness program.
