    Clearwater Solid Waste Transfer Station, #15-15007-SW RFP

    J. Kokolakis Contracting, Inc. (JKC) (CGC‐062093), the selected Construction Management firm for the City of Clearwater – Solid Waste Transfer Station hereby solicits sealed proposals from prequalified vendors and subcontractors. The project consists of reconfiguration of the Coachman Ridge Park on an adjacent site, demolition of the existing Transfer Station building, tunnel, scales, and roadways and construction of a new 22,869 SF PEMB, a new 1,576 SF Administration building and a 665 SF Scale House. The scope entails sitework which has a soil preloading phase, new roads, and utilities, structural concrete, masonry, steel joists, membrane roofing, truck scales, pre-engineered metal building, pre-fabricated control room, cranes, natural gas, mechanical, electrical, fire sprinkler, and plumbing work. Some of the soil for preloading can be excavated from the Coachman Ridge Park site. All parties interested in participating on this project must be prequalified in order for their proposal to be considered.     Completed prequalification forms must be filled out and returned to the Construction Manager by 9/7/17. Proposals will only be accepted from prequalified firms. All interested parties are encouraged to attend an informational pre-proposal conference at the Project Site (1005 Old Coachman Road, Clearwater, FL 33765) at 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday, 9/6/17. Deadline for receipt of Proposals has been set for Thursday, 9/21/16, at 2:00 p.m. at the Construction Manager’s offices. Construction is tentatively scheduled to start in January 2018 and is expected to last 16 months. The City of Clearwater and JKC reserve the right to accept or reject any and all proposals, in whole or in part, or to waive informalities and irregularities. No verbal instruction or directives will be accepted regarding this project during the proposal period. All instructions or directives must be clarified through written Addenda or Supplements, issued by the Construction Manager. The Owner and Architect will not accept calls regarding this procurement. The City of Clearwater and JKC are committed to providing equal opportunity and strongly encourage all interested M/WBE and SBE firms to submit proposals. All future updates regarding this project will only be posted for prequalified firms through the JKC iSqFt website.
