The Board of Massage Therapy hereby gives notice: of the issuance of an Order regarding the Petition for Variance or Waiver, filed on March 1, 2019, by Stephanie A. Blaisdell. The Notice of Petition for Waiver or Variance was published in Vol. 45, No. 44, of the March 5, 2019, Florida Administrative Register. Petitioner sought a variance or waiver Rule 64B7-32.002, F.A.C., regarding the requirement for an official transcript as proof of graduation. The Board considered the instant Petition at a duly-noticed public meeting held on April 24 and 25, 2019, in Tampa, Florida. The Board’s Order, filed on May 8, 2019, voted to grant the petition for variance or waiver finding that Petitioner has shown that purpose of the underlying statute is being achieved by other means and that application of the above rule would case substantial hardship or violate the principles of fairness. The Board will consider the documents submitted by Petitioner to consider whether the massage school she attended meets the criteria for a Board approved massage school.
