    Notice of New Project Information

    The Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) announces new project information in which all persons are invited to review.

    DATE AND TIME: Thursday, September 3, 2020, 12:00 Noon

    GENERAL SUBJECT MATTER TO BE CONSIDERED: The Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) has new information concerning the Nine Mile Road Project Development and Environment (PD&E) study from State Road 10A (U.S. 90, Mobile Highway) to State Road 297 (Pine Forest Road) in Escambia county.

    This information provides interested persons an opportunity to express their views concerning the proposed improvements.

    The intent of this study is to evaluate adding capacity on Nine Mile Road by widening from two to four lanes between Mobile Highway and Beulah Road and from four to six lanes between Beulah Road and Pine Forest Road, approximately 5.8 miles of roadway widening.

    Maps, drawings and other information will be available for review on the project website (nwflroads.com). FDOT representatives are available to discuss the proposed improvements, answer questions, and receive comments. The deadline to submit official comments related to these projects update is October 5, 2020.

    Public participation is held without regard to race, color, national origin, age, sex, religion, disability, or family status.

    The environmental review, consultation, and other actions required by applicable federal environmental laws for these projects are being, or have been, carried out by the FDOT pursuant to 23 U.S.C. 327 and a Memorandum of Understanding dated December 14, 2016 and executed by the Federal Highway Administration and FDOT.
