NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that on August 12, 2016, the Department of Environmental Protection received a petition for received a petition for variance or waiver from Petitioner, Gulf Island Strand Condominium. The petition requested a variance/waiver from subsections 62B-33.002(18) and 62B-33.002(43), and subparagraph 62B-33.0051(1)(a)1, F.A.C., which require that in order to qualify for a permit for coastal armoring, the structure proposed to be protected must be an eligible structure. The property is located at 2770 North Beach Road, Englewood, Florida 34223 between the Florida Department of Environmental Protection’s monuments R-5 and R-6 in Charlotte County. The petition has been assigned OGC No. 16-1238.
