The Office of Insurance Regulation announces a hearing to which all persons are invited.

GENERAL SUBJECT MATTER TO BE CONSIDERED: Metropolitan Casualty Company and Metropolitan Property and Casualty Insurance Company have requested a 33.5% overall increase for new homeowners’ policies, effective October 1, 2007 and renewal homeowners’ policies, effective November 1, 2007. The rate increases are not uniform and some areas are subject to higher rate increases.

Florida law allows the Office of Insurance Regulation to hold a public hearing for any purpose within the scope of the Insurance Code deemed to be necessary. Input from interested parties will be received at this public hearing. If you are unable to attend this public hearing, please forward your comments to [e-mail]. The subject line of your email should read “Metropolitan.”
