INVITATION TO BID
Proposals are requested from QUALIFIED REGISTERED ELECTRICAL, SECURITY, FENCE, OR SPECIALTY CONTRACTORS by the State of Florida, Department of Children and Families, hereinafter referred to as OWNER, for the construction of:

TITLE: FENCE SECURITY REPLACEMENT AT THE FLORIDA STATE HOSPITAL FORENSIC UNITS
SITE: 100 N MAIN STREET, CHATTAHOOCHEE, FLORIDA, 32211
PREQUALIFICATION: Each prime Bidder shall be state-certified in accordance with Chapter 489, Florida Statutes, as an Electrical, Security, Fence, or Specialty Contractor. Bids from firms not able to furnish proof of the required certification are subject to disqualification.
PROPOSAL: Bids must be submitted in full in accordance with the requirements of the Drawings and the General and Technical Specifications, which may be examined and obtained from the ARCHITECT/ENGINEER/ PROJECT MANAGER:

BID DOCUMENTS: Full sets of Drawings and Specifications may be purchased from the ARCHITECT/ENGINEER/PROJECT MANAGER, by payment of printing and handling costs at the rate of $10.00 per bid set.
MANDATORY PRE-BID MEETING: A mandatory pre-bid meeting will be held on Thursday, September 22, 2016 at 10:00 a.m. Eastern (local) time. The meeting will be held at 100 N Main Street, Chattahoochee, Florida, 32324, Building # 1235 (pharmacy building with the flagpole out front) Information conference room.
BONDING REQUIREMENTS: See Section B-11 for bid guarantee requirements. See Section C-5 for performance and payment bond requirements.
BID OPENING: Sealed bids will be received, publicly opened and read aloud at the information below:

LOCATION: 100 N Main Street, Chattahoochee, Florida, 32324, Building # 1235 (pharmacy building with the flagpole out front) Information conference room.
All work to be performed shall be located at the Florida State Hospital, 100 N Main Street, Chattahoochee, Florida, 32324. All contractors and subcontractors will need security level 2 background clearance. This scope of work is to supply and install a new (Fiber SenSys) security system the existing inner fence that surrounds the Forensic Admissions facility. This will include all material and equipment necessary for the system to operate as design intended. There will be alternates for additional equipment on the outer fence and an alternate to supply and install a new (Fiber SenSys) security system on the existing fence that surrounds the Forensic Central facility. Price will be held for 180 days. All details for this project are in the general and technical specification / bid set.
Anticipated Start-up date is November 3, 2016. Contingent on release of funds.
