    6A-5.066Approval of Preservice Teacher Preparation Programs

    PURPOSE AND EFFECT: The purpose of this rule development is to update provisions in the rule due to statutory changes, rule changes, and for clarity. Proposed changes include: update of specifications for the uniform core curricula and that each candidate is assessed in his or her program concentration; modify admission requirements for candidates in graduate level programs; revise requirements for program completion; update criteria and data submitted for review as part of the institution’s institutional program evaluation plan (IPEP) and for the general public; and, revise criteria for continued approval of programs to be based upon specified measures of program and program completer performance, including the program review process, timelines, and performance level targets for each of the continued approval criteria.

    SUBJECT AREA TO BE ADDRESSED: Review modifications of the requirements and implementation of the approval process for each type of educator preparation program offered by a Florida postsecondary institution or public school district.
