REQUEST FOR BIDS # 14-004

Runway 7-25 Rehabilitation

The Gainesville-Alachua County Regional Airport Authority (GACRAA) is soliciting sealed bids for the “Runway 7-25 Rehabilitation” project. The work shall include the rehabilitation of the existing Runway “7-25” asphalt pavement surface as well as airfield lighting and signage improvements. Work shall include the removal and reconstruction of asphalt runway pavement and new pavement construction. Existing asphalt pavement shall be removed and replaced with 4” of new Bituminous Surface Course. Work shall also include taxiway and runway marking, replacement of the existing runway edge lighting system, new airfield guidance signs, grading, pavement grooving, sodding, and related work.

A payment of One Hundred dollars and 00/cents ($100) will be required to purchase each set of the bid documents.

A mandatory pre-bid conference will be held on Wednesday, August 20, 2014, at 10:00 a.m. at the Gainesville Regional Airport, Passenger Terminal – Board Room, 3880 N.E. 39th Avenue, Gainesville, Florida 32609. A site visit of the project areas will be conducted immediately following the pre-bid conference.

Bids must be signed by an authorized official, enclosed in a sealed envelope or package clearly marked: “Project No. 14–004 Runway 7-25 Rehabilitation” and mailed or delivered to the Authority’s Administrative Office, Gainesville Regional Airport, Attn: Chief Executive Officer, 3880 N.E. 39th Avenue, Suite A, Gainesville, Florida 32609.

Bids are due at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, September 17, 2014 and will be publicly opened at this time. The official clock is located in the Authority’s Administrative Office. Bids received after 2:00 p.m., September 17, 2014 will not be considered.

Disadvantaged Business Enterprise (DBE) firms are encouraged to participate.

GACRAA reserves the right to reject any or all bids received in response to this Request for Bids as determined to be in the best interest of the Airport.
