NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that on August 1, 2014, the Department of Business and Professional Regulation, Division of Hotels and Restaurants, Bureau of Elevator Safety, received a petition for Howard Johnson. Petitioner seeks an emergency temporary variance of the requirements of ASME A17.1, Section 2.27.3.2, as adopted by subsection 61C-5.001(1), Florida Administrative Code, that requires upgrading the elevators with phase I emergency recall operation by fire alarm initiating devices which poses a significant economic/financial hardship.
