    NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Board of Nursing has received the petition for declaratory statement from Penelope Blake, MSN, CCRN, CEN, on behalf of Evidence Based Practice Committee of St. Mary’s Medical Center and the Palm Beach Children’s Hospital filed on May 20, 2020.The petition seeks the agency's opinion as to the applicability of paragraph 464.003(18)(b), F.S., as it applies to the petitioner.

    The Petitioner seeks a Declaratory Statement from the Board with regard to whether it is within the scope of practice for registered nurses’ license, education and training in the adult and pediatric emergency departments to administer human rabies immune globulin (HRIG), when ordered by a physician, by infiltrating HRIG directly into and around the area of the animal bite, injecting as much volume in that area as possible per manufacturer’s recommendation. Except for good cause shown, motions for leave to intervene must be filed within 21 days after the publication of this notice.
