    FLORIDA CATEGORICAL EXCLUSION NOTICE

    City of Marianna

    The Florida Department of Environmental Protection (DEP) has determined that the City of Marianna project involving the construction of 10-inch and 8-inch diameter water transmission mains along Caverns Road (SR 166) from Watson Street to Berkshire Road and a 12-inch diameter water transmission main along SR 71 from US Highway 90 to Caverns Road (SR 166) in order to eliminate the contaminant dieldrin which was detected in Sunland water system wells #1 and #4 which will be abandoned. The projects is not expected to generate controversy over potential environmental effects. The total estimated construction cost is $3,127,976. The project may qualify for a Drinking Water State Revolving Fund loan composed of federal and state funds.  DEP will consider public comments about the environmental impacts of the proposed project that are postmarked or delivered at the address below within 30 days of this notice.
