The Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT), District One, is hosting a Public Information Meeting about planned improvements to the I-75 at Corkscrew Road interchange in Lee County, Financial Project ID 406225-3-32-01. The purpose of the meeting is to inform the community of the project and offer an opportunity to review construction plans. FDOT invites all members of the public to attend.

GENERAL SUBJECT MATTER TO BE CONSIDERED: This public meeting offers the community the opportunity to watch a project slide show, review project displays and speak one-on-one with members of the project team. The meeting will be an open house format, so no formal presentation will be made.

The project is an interim operational improvement to the existing interchange. This improvement will help to accommodate the existing traffic demand and extend the useful life of the interchange. The interim improvements include the construction of one additional left turn lane in each direction along Corkscrew Road, creating dual left turn lanes for the eastbound and westbound left turn movements accessing the I-75 on ramps. The interim interchange improvements also include extending the I-75 on and off ramps approximately 1,500 feet in all four quadrants to improve acceleration and deceleration to and from I-75. The existing signals at the ramp terminals will be replaced with new signals, and existing high mast lighting will be replaced by new high mast lighting.
