The State Board of Education announces a public meeting and workshop to which all persons are invited.

GENERAL SUBJECT MATTER TO BE CONSIDERED: The meeting agenda will consist of approval of minutes of the State Board meeting held July 18, 2018. Items for consideration include action relating to the following: Review of Turnaround Option Plans for the School Districts of DeSoto and Marion Counties; Amendment to Rule 6A-1.0451, F.A.C., Florida Education Finance Program Student Membership Surveys; Adoption of Resolutions Authorizing the Issuance and Sale of Not Exceeding $10,300,000 State of Florida, Full Faith and Credit, State Board of Education Capital Outlay Refunding Bonds, 2018 Series (to be determined); Amendment to Rule 6A-6.0571, F.A.C., Career and Technical Education and Adult General Education Standards and Industry-Driven Benchmarks; College Reach-Out Program 2018-2019 Funding Recommendations; and Amendment to Rules 6N-1.003, F.A.C.,  Provisional Approval; 6N-1.004, F.A.C., Annual Renewal of Approval of in-State Institutions to Participate in Florida’s Reciprocity agreement; and 6N-1.005, F.A.C., Annual Fees for In-State Institutions to Participate in Florida’s Reciprocity Agreement. Following the meeting, the State Board of Education will participate in a workshop to discuss and receive updates regarding the Department of Education’s strategic plan; financial outlook; and budget.
