    NOTICE TO CONTRACTORS

    ITB 18-04 Robinson Theater Lighting Upgrade

    The University of North Florida Board of Trustees, a public body corporate, is soliciting bids to electrical contractors for the demolition and replacement of the existing lighting control system at Andrew Robinson Theater, Building 14A located at the University of North Florida, 1 UNF Drive, Jacksonville, FL 32224.

    The scope of work includes all labor, materials and supervision required for the demolition and replacement of the existing lighting control systems. This will include the removal of all dimming racks, the controller console, connector strips and existing lighting instruments (fixtures). All existing lighting instruments will be turned over to the owner for their use. All existing controls and connecting equipment will be removed from the site and properly disposed of by the contractor as per the owner’s discretion. Existing house lights, stage and gridiron work lights will be removed and replaced within this scope.

    The new theatrical lighting system will consist of new LED theatrical lighting instruments and house lights, a new control console, a new control system rack, all necessary cabling and network components, new connector strips and power cabling to serve the new instruments. The new controls will include DMX controls for each new theatrical lighting instrument and the house lighting. New fixtures will be installed for stage and gridiron work lighting. All associated circuiting for the new controls and fixture connection locations will be provided. See the construction drawings and specifications for the full scope of work.

    Minority business participation is strongly recommended and supported by the University of North Florida.

    A performance and payment bond for 100 percent of the amount of the bid will be required of the successful contractor for any project with a cost that exceeds $100,000.

    As required by §287.133, Fla. Stat., a contractor may not submit a proposal for this project if it is on the convicted vendor list for a public entity crime committed within the past 36 months. The selected contractor must warrant that it will neither utilize the services of, nor contract with, any supplier, subcontractor or consultant in excess of $15,000 in connection with this project for a period of 36 months from the date of their being placed on the convicted vendor list.

    Contractor shall have established equal opportunity practices which conform to all laws against discrimination and prohibits discrimination based on race, creed, color, sex, age, national origin, marital status or religion; neither contractor nor any subcontractor or other person, firm or business entity with whom it would be engaged in a combined effort to perform the services has hired any person who is an officer or employee of UNF.
