NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Board of Nursing has issued an order disposing of the petition for declaratory statement filed by Imelda S. Grieser on June 28, 2016. The following is a summary of the agency's disposition of the petition:

The Notice of Petition for Declaratory Statement was published in Volume 42, No. 123, of the July 8, 2016 Florida Administrative Register. Petitioner sought a Declaratory Statement regarding whether the Petitioner's performance of punch and shave skin biopsies supervised by a board certified dermatologist is within the scope of practice as a registered nurse as defined in Section 464.003(20), Florida Statutes. The Board’s Order, filed on August 26, 2016, finds that under the specific facts of the petition, punch and shave biopsies may not be performed by registered nurses.
