    The Central Florida Water Initiative Regional Water Supply Plan technical team announces a public meeting to which all persons are invited.

    DATE AND TIME: Thursday, September 26, 2013, 4:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m.

    PLACE: Winter Park Civic Center, 1050 W. Morse Blvd., Winter Park, FL 32789

    GENERAL SUBJECT MATTER TO BE CONSIDERED: The Central Florida Water Initiative Regional Water Supply Plan technical team will hold a public meeting to provide information on the development of a regional water supply plan for central Florida, including Orange, Osceola, Polk, Seminole and southern Lake counties. The meeting will be an open house format from 4:00 p.m. – 5:00 p.m., with a formal presentation at 5:00 p.m. Technical staff will be available throughout the meeting to provide details on the development process and to answer questions, address individual concerns and accept public input.     NOTE: One or more Governing Board members from the St. Johns River, South Florida and Southwest Florida water management districts may attend and participate in the meeting.

    The Central Florida Water Initiative (CFWI) is a collaborative effort for water resource planning, development and management among the Florida Department of Environmental Protection; the St. Johns River, South Florida and Southwest Florida water management districts; the Florida Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services; and water supply utilities. The CFWI area includes Orange, Osceola, Polk, Seminole and southern Lake counties. The regional water supply plan will ensure the protection of water resources and related natural systems and identify sustainable water supplies for all water uses in the CFWI area through 2035.
