NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Department of Economic Opportunity has received the petition for declaratory statement from DAF Charters, Ltd., Goldfinger Charters, Ltd., and DAF Charters, LLC, on August 26, 2014. The petition seeks the agency’s opinion as to the applicability of Section 443.1216(13)(b), Florida Statutes as it applies to the petitioner.
Whether Section 443.1216(13)(b), Florida Statutes, exempts from Florida Reemployment Tax wages paid to a crew member of a foreign documented vessel who serves on the vessel both inside and outside the United States, regardless of the residence or citizenship of the employer or crew member, and regardless of where the services are performed.
