Notice is hereby given that the Board of Medicine has received a Petition for Declaratory Statement filed on behalf of Lina M. Vargas Abello, M.D., R.P.V.I., and Velano Vascular, Inc., on September 18, 2018. The Petitioner seeks a declaratory statement from the Board with regard to whether it is permissible for a physician to delegate to an unlicensed medical assistant the performance of an innovative blood drawing procedure known as PIVO. The Board will consider this petition at its meeting currently scheduled for Friday, October 12, 2018. Except for good cause shown, motions for leave to intervene must be filed within 21 days after publication of this notice.
