    RULE NO.:RULE TITLE:

    65C-28.018Meeting the Child's Educational Needs

    PURPOSE AND EFFECT: The Department intends to amend Rule 65C-28.018, F.A.C, Meeting the Child’s Educational Needs, to (1) Set forth factors that must be considered prior to making a determination that remaining in the school of origin is not in the child’s best interest; and (2) Delete unnecessary language. Rulemaking is required to comply with the provisions of the Elementary and Secondary Education Act, as amended by the Every Student Succeeds Act. The new provisions promote educational stability for children in foster care and take effect on December 10, 2016.
