Summary:
The Florida Legislature created the Charter School Review Commission within the Department of Education. The Commission will have the same powers and duties as other charter school sponsors regarding the review and approval of charter schools, and its membership will be subject to confirmation by the Senate. The Legislature also directed the State Board of Education to adopt rules for the Commission’s work.
Purpose:
To create the process by which the Charter School Review Commission will conduct its work reviewing charter school applications.
