    The Florida Department of Transportation announces a public meeting to which all persons are invited.

    DATE AND TIME: Thursday, October 12, 2017, 4:30 p.m. – 6:00 p.m.

    PLACE: Gateway Trinity Church, 11381 Gateway Boulevard, Fort Myers, FL 33913

    GENERAL SUBJECT MATTER TO BE CONSIDERED: The Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT), District One, is holding a public information meeting to discuss the upcoming improvements to State Road 82 from east of Lee Boulevard/Colonial Boulevard to Shawnee Road in Lee County, Florida.

    The meeting will be an open house format; no formal presentation will be made. Those attending the meeting will be able to view displays, ask questions, and discuss the work one-on-one with members of the project team.

    The department’s contractor, Ajax Paving Industries of Florida, begins work mid-October to widen SR 82 to six lanes from east of Lee Boulevard to Shawnee Road, with completion estimated by summer of 2019. This 4.5-mile corridor will have a median separating three 12-foot travel lanes in each direction, 6.5-foot inside paved shoulders, bike lanes, a 5-foot sidewalk on the north side and a 10-foot shared-use path on the south side. The project will also add a grass median and LED lighting throughout this segment.
