NOTICE OF SECURITIES APPLICATION
The Florida Public Service Commission will consider at its October 18, 2011, Agenda Conference, Docket No.: 110265-EI, Application of Tampa Electric Company for authority to issue and sell securities pursuant to Section 366.04, Florida Statutes, and Chapter 25-8, Florida Administrative Code. The Company seeks PSC approval pursuant to Section 366.04, Florida Statutes, to issue, sell and/or exchange equity securities and issue, sell, exchange and/or assume long-term debt securities and/or to assume liabilities or obligations as guarantor, endorser, or surety in an amount not to exceed in the aggregate $1.4 billion, during the twelve month period, ending December 31, 2012. The Company also seeks approval pursuant to Section 366.04, Florida Statutes, to issue, sell, exchange and/or assume short-term debt securities and/or to assume liabilities or obligations as guarantor, endorser, or surety, with the maximum amount of short-term debt outstanding at any one time being $1.0 billion, during the twelve month period, ending December 31, 2012. Additionally, the Company seeks authority to enter into interest rates swaps or other derivative instruments related to debt securities.
