    The Florida Department of Transportation announces a public meeting to which all persons are invited.

    DATE AND TIME: Thursday, September 17, 2015, 5:30 p.m. – 7:30 p.m.; presentation at 6:30 p.m.

    PLACE: Mount Dora Community Building, 520 N. Baker Street, Mount Dora, Florida

    Project Description: Access Management Public Hearing.

    Design Project for State Road (SR) 500/US 441 from SR 46 to SR 44 Design Project.

    The department is designing improvements for SR 500/US 441 to provide roadway capacity to address future traffic demand, serve the community’s needs, and improve the quality of life for residents. The project will widen the roadway from a four-lane, divided rural roadway to a six-lane, high-speed urban roadway which will tie in to the SR 46 interchange to the south, and the six-lane section of SR 500/US 441 west of SR 44 to the north. The project is funded for design and right-of-way (2018-2019), but is not yet funded for construction.

    The meeting begins with an open house at 5:30 p.m. There will be a formal presentation at 6:30 p.m., after which participants may provide verbal comments to everyone present. Project staff will be available to discuss the project with attendees before and after the presentation. Participants may also provide their comments directly to a court reporter at any time during the hearing. Written comments must be postmarked no later than Monday, September 28, 2015. All comments, written and oral, will become part of the project’s public record.
