NOTICE OF INTENT TO BID FOR AUDIT AND TAX PREPARATION SERVICES

AREA AGENCY ON AGING FOR SOUTHWEST FLORIDA, INC.

d/b/a Senior Choices of Southwest Florida

Audit and Tax Preparation Services for

Fiscal Year Ending December 31, 2013

The Area Agency on Aging (AAA)d/b/a Senior Choices of Southwest Florida is soliciting bids to obtain the services of a public accounting firm, whose principal officers are independent certified public accountants, to perform a financial and compliance audit of the AAA in accordance with the current Government Auditing Standards and OMB Circular A-133, Audits of States, Local Governments, and Non-Profit Organizations.  This will be accomplished via Request for Proposal (RFP).  This will represent the first year of the customary three year bid cycle, whereby initial contracts let as a result of this RFP may be renewed for up to two consecutive years.  The AAA’s records will be audited for the period January 1 through December 31, 2013.  Audit reports must be prepared in accordance with Government Auditing Standards and OMB Circular A-133, Audits of States, Local Governments, and Non-Profit Organizations.

The Area Agency on Aging for Southwest Florida, Inc. d/b/a Senior Choices of Southwest Florida is a private, nonprofit corporation established in 1978.  The Agency has been determined to be exempt from Federal income tax under Section 501(c)3 of the Internal Revenue Code.  It is governed by Fourteen (14) member volunteer Board of Directors.

The Agency is one of eleven Area Agencies on Aging in the State of Florida providing for the development, planning, and the administration of service programs beneficial to the elderly.  The AAA serves a seven-county area including Charlotte, Collier, DeSoto, Glades, Hendry, Lee and Sarasota. Federal and state funds for the seven-county area are awarded to the Agency under grant contracts. Administrative offices and all records are maintained at 15201 N Cleveland Ave Suite 1100, N Fort Myers, Florida.

The deadline for submission of sealed proposals is November 1, 2013 at 5:00 p.m.
