PURPOSE AND EFFECT: The amendments expand and clarify definitions. The new rule sections eliminate or significantly condense requirements that are now treated in other Department rules, such as transition, medical care, and mental health services. Trauma responsive practices and PREA requirements for youths have been included.
SUBJECT AREA TO BE ADDRESSED: The new rule section and amendments reorganize and replace the existing rule sections governing probation services for juveniles. References to items that are now treated elsewhere, such as transition and medical screening, are eliminated or significantly condensed. Statutory changes are accommodated, such as the updated provisions governing detention screening.
