The Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission announces a workshop to which all persons are invited.
DATES AND TIMES: Monday, November 6, 2024, 9:00 a.m. – 10:30 a.m.; November 8, 2024, 2:00 p.m. – 3:30 p.m. (ET).
PLACE: These will be workshops that will be broadcast via statewide webinars. All webinars will have the same presentation. Information on joining the webinar will be available prior to the webinar date at: https://myfwc.com/wildlifehabitats/wildlife/species-guidelines/. Participation in the webinar will require access to a computer or mobile device with Internet access.
GENERAL SUBJECT MATTER TO BE CONSIDERED: The Commission will present draft revisions to the Florida Burrowing Owl Species Conservation Measures and Permitting Guidelines. As a component of the Florida’s Imperiled Species Management Plan, these guidelines outline biological background, recommended survey methodology, and voluntary conservation practices designed to improve conditions for the burrowing owl (Athene cunicularia floridana). The webinars will provide the public an opportunity to provide feedback and offer suggestions on the proposed guidelines.
