64B8-9.014: Standards for Telemedicine Prescribing Practice

Notice is hereby given that the Board of Medicine has received a Petition for Declaratory Statement filed by John Cottam, M.D., on October 23, 2012.   The Petitioner seeks the Board’s interpretation of Rule 64B8-9.014, F.A.C., and asks whether a the requirement for a physical examination as set forth in subparagraph (2)(a) of the rule, allows for high quality digital pictures to perform an exam specifically in the telemedicine practice of dermatology. The Board will consider this petition at its meeting currently scheduled for November 30, 2012.  Copies of the petition may be obtained by writing Joy A.
