    PURPOSE AND EFFECT: The Department is proposing amendments to Chapter 62-602, F.A.C., to implement Chapter 2023-204, Laws of Florida, which directs the Department to adopt rules implementing section 403.8721, F.S., which requires the Department to issue water treatment, domestic wastewater treatment and water distribution system operator licenses by reciprocity and authorizes the Department to issue temporary operator licenses during a declared state of emergency.

    SUBJECT AREA TO BE ADDRESSED: The Department is proposing amendments to Chapter 62-602, F.A.C., entitled Water or Domestic Wastewater Treatment Plant Operators and Distribution System Operators, to establish requirements and procedures for the Department to issue licenses by reciprocity to treatment plant and/or water distribution system operators who hold an active and valid license from another state, the Federal Government, a territory or tribal government and to personnel who performed duties comparable duties of a water treatment plant operator, or a domestic wastewater treatment plant operator while serving in the United States Armed Forces; and to issue temporary water, wastewater and water distribution system licenses to non-Florida licensed operators during a declared state of emergency.
