    68A-27.0012Procedures for Listing and Removing Species from Florida's Endangered and Threatened Species List

    The Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission has received and initiated species evaluation requests to list the southern dusky salamander (Desmognathus auriculatus), alligator gar (Atractosteus spatula), and blackbanded sunfish (Enneacanthus chaetodon) as state-designated Threatened species pursuant to subsection 68A-27.0012(2), Florida Administrative Code (F.A.C.). The Commission requests written information and data on the biological status of these three species pursuant to sub subparagraph 68A-27.0012(2)(c)2.b., F.A.C. The Commission is specifically requesting information on: population size and trends; distribution and range; threats to the species; published population viability models; and specific aspects of the species life history that may influence the status of the species. In accordance with subparagraph 68A-27.0012(2)(d)2., F.A.C., information on the management needs and the socio/economic impacts of the listing will be sought at a future date, in preparation for the drafting of the species-specific action plan for inclusion into the Imperiled Species Management Plan.
