The Board of Medicine hereby gives notice that on February 19, 2014, an Order was filed on the Petition for Waiver or Variance. The Petition for Waiver or Variance was filed on behalf of Norman Samuels, M.D., on December 6, 2013, seeking a waiver from Rule 64B8-9.0131, F.A.C., with regard to the training requirements for practicing pain management. The Notice was published in Vol. 39, No. 245, of the Florida Administrative Register, on December 19, 2013. The Board, at its meeting held on February 7, 2014, voted to deny the Petition for Waiver or Variance finding that the Petitioner failed to demonstrate that he has met the purpose of the underlying statute, that compliance with the rule creates an undue hardship, or that the rule violates the principles of fairness.
