The Board of Physical Therapy Practice hereby gives notice: that on March 4, 2019, an Order was filed on the Petition for Variance or Waiver. The Petition for Variance or Waiver was filed by Monica Rita Cotik-Bilsky, on January 24, 2019, seeking a variance or waiver of sub subparagraph 64B17-3.001(3)(c)2.a., F.A.C., by requesting that the Equivalence Credential Evaluation Report performed by IERF be accepted by the Board as meeting the requirement of the licensure rule for foreign trained applicants. The Board considered the Petition at a duly-noticed public meeting held on February 15, 2019, in Tampa, Florida, and granted Petitioner’s motion to modify the Petition. At its meeting, the Board granted the modified Petition finding that Petitioner demonstrated that the purpose of the underlying statute has been achieved by other means; has demonstrated a hardship; and has demonstrated that the principles of fairness would be violated. Specifically, the Order grants a variance or waiver of paragraph 64B17-3.007(2)(g), F.A.C., and permits the Petitioner to use copies of transcripts and educational documents for evaluation of foreign education credentials for licensure as a physical therapist.
