    RULE NO.:RULE TITLE:

64B7-32.003Minimum Requirements for Board Approved Massage Schools

The Board of Massage Therapy hereby gives notice: of the issuance of an Order regarding the Petition for Variance or Waiver, filed on January 4, 2019, by Audrey Thorne. The Notice of Petition for Waiver or Variance was published in Vol. 45, No. 05, of the January 8, 2019, Florida Administrative Register. Petitioner sought a waiver of Rule 64B7-32.003, F.A.C., regarding the claim of deficient massage therapy training hours. The Board considered the instant Petition at a duly-noticed public meeting held on January 28 and 29, 2019, in Orlando, Florida. The Board’s Order, filed on March 15, 2019, shows that the purpose of the underlying statute is being achieved by other means and that application of the above rule would cause a substantial hardship or violate the principles of fairness. The Petition is granted, the Board will consider the documents submitted by Petitioner to consider whether the massage school she attended meets the criteria for a Board approved massage school.
