6A-4.004Florida Educator's Certificates with Academic, Administrative, Degreed Career and Technical, and Specialty Class Coverages
PURPOSE AND EFFECT: To align provisions with changes from the 2024 legislative session from House Bills 1285 and 5101 and Senate Bill 7002. The amendments encompass several key amendments including the development of a new Classical Education Teaching Certificate; the elimination of the subject area exam requirement for Temporary Teacher Apprenticeship Certification applicants; and change of the cumulative grade point average requirement for the Temporary Teacher Apprenticeship program from 3.0 to 2.5. Additionally, revisions will be made to the existing educator certification application with an addition of fee waivers for certain applicants adding Elementary Education K-6 or Exceptional Student Education K-12 subject areas. A new application process will be developed for valid certificate holders to request an inactive status certificate and the reactivation of a certificate from inactive status.
